Gravity is an essential thing needed for the normal functioning of every act. Many disturbances could be caused if there was no gravity. Gravity is one of the blessings of nature to us. We can expect what type of consequences can be caused due to the absence of Gravity. Therefore, in such cases, artificial gravity is induced in those systems where gravity doesn’t exist just like an aircraft. Let’s discuss some more about it.
In this universe, there are many systems and situations where gravity is absent and the performance of mainly human beings is affected. In such cases, artificial gravity is provided through artificial means so that we can feel like on Earth. This phenomenon is called artificial gravity.
GRAVITY FREE SYSTEMS
Let us consider, a satellite as a gravity free system. In a gravity free satellite, there will be no force pushing any body to any side of the spacecraft. If the satellite is to stay in the orbit for a long period, then the weightlessness of the bodies may affect the performance of the astronauts present in the satellite or spacecraft.
PROVIDING ARTIFICIAL GRAVITY
To overcome the difficulty and problems due to the weightlessness of bodies, artificial gravity is provided and induced in the satellites. For this, the satellite or spacecraft is set to rotation about its own axis. This produces centripetal force in the spacecraft which presses the astronaut towards the outer rim of the spacecraft and exerts a force on the floor of spacecraft just like Earth. All this enable the crew of spacecraft or satellite to function in almost a normal manner.

In these cases, the only force which provided gravity or attraction to the bodies is the centripetal force produced when the satellite is set to rotation about its own axis. It is not that stronger just like Earth’s attraction but it’s sufficient to fulfil the deficiency of Earth’s attraction.
Consider a spacecraft of the circular shape as shown below.
If the outer radius of the spacecraft is R and it rotates around its axis with an angular speed of w. Then through derivation, the frequency required for the rotation of satellite to produce appreciable centripetal can be found from the following relation:
When the spaceship rotates with this frequency, the artificial gravity like Earth is provided to inhabitants of the spacecraft.
